Easy Spicy Mayo Ketchup Fry Dipping Sauce Recipe
Condiment mashup recipes are one of my favorite things to experiment with and at any given moment I may have more condiments in my fridge than actual food, haha! The good news is, you only need to stock the basics to have a ton of options at your finger tips. I came up with this recipe when I was looking for a savory sauce with a little tang and spice for my air fryer tater tots. And it was a match made in heaven! If you love ketchup and mayo and a little heat, you will love this easy sauce that only takes 5 minutes to make! A simple combination of mayonnaise, ketchup, and hot sauce makes the best fry sauce, or tot sauce in my case. Trust me, this mayochup is about to be your new favorite sauce! Full recipe card below.

What is Mayo Ketchup?
Ketchup mayo or mayochup is a mixture of ketchup and mayonnaise often used as a fry sauce, dipping sauce, or sandwich spread. This combination of mayonnaise and ketchup has become a very popular condiment in the United States in recent years and is now also sold in bottled form at the grocery store. A similar sauce is also commonly used for seafood dishes in Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Latin America and is sometimes referred to by different names like salsa rosada, golf sauce, and salsa golf. However this version often uses lime juice or lemon juice as well.
Despite the color of this sauce, it should not be confused with Pink Sauce which was made famous on TikTok – make and is now sold online and in some stores. Pink sauce is actually more like a salad dressing than ketchup mayo since it uses oil, honey, fruit, vinegar, and citrus.
Why I Love This Recipe
This recipe is beyond easy, there is no cooking required, and only three ingredients! And if I am being completely honest, ketchup is my favorite condiment next to hot sauce so when you combine them with mayo, magic happens. This delicious sauce is perfect for French fries, tater tots, burgers, onion rings, and even bagel breakfast sandwiches! So having another flavor of ketchup to go on all the things is a win in my book. I also love that I can mix up a small amount on the fly.
Mayo Ketchup Dipping Sauce Ingredients
This tasty twist on ketchup uses only three simple ingredients you probably already have in your fridge. Let me walk you through what I used and how easy this mayo ketchup recipe is.
Ketchup – To make this recipe super easy, I used plain old ketchup straight from the grocery store shelf. You know, the bottled stuff you most likely have in your fridge. If you are looking for a homemade ketchup recipe, you are in the wrong place. While I love mixing my own condiments, making them entirely from scratch takes a long time. And let’s be honest, unless you are a restaurant looking for a commercial ketchup you can make for less, it simply isn’t worth the time to make ketchup from fresh tomatoes. I used the bottle of Heinz in my fridge, but any brand will work.
Mayonnaise – Mayonnaise is the other main ingredient in this condiment. It gives this dipping sauce a creamy and tangy flavor that creates the perfect combination with the ketchup. Feel free to use whatever brand you want but I prefer real mayonnaise.
Tabasco Hot Sauce – Using hot sauce in a recipe is my favorite way to add a little kick. While this ingredient is definitely optional, I think it really gives it a bit of flavor enhancement. If you do not like spicy food, you can use less Tabasco or omit it all together. You could also use black pepper for a small amount of spice.

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Regular Ketchup
- 2 tbsp Mayo
- 1/4 tsp Tabasco Hot Sauce
Instructions
- In a small bowl, ramakin, or mason jar, mix ketchup, mayonnaise, and hot sauce with a spoon or French whisk.
- The consistency will be slightly less thick than regular ketchup or mayo because of the liquid from the hot sauce.
- Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
- Prep Time: 5
- Category: Sauces
- Method: No Cook
- Cuisine: American, Puerto Rican
Storage
The best way to store leftover mayoketchup is in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Since this recipe contains hot sauce which contains white vinegar and dairy, the shelf life will be limited and can sour if kept too long. I usually only make what I intend to use for a meal so I do not waste any.
