What is Fiesta Ranch dip?
Years ago Hidden Valley put out a new dry mix for dips called fiesta ranch. The little seasoning packet grew in popularity but wasn’t available at every grocery store. Even now I sometimes can’t find it. But don’t worry, because I have a super simple hack for the same great fiesta ranch flavor. Fiesta ranch is really just taco seasoning and ranch mixed together! I know, mind blown, right?
If you are spending time on TikTok – make you have also probably seen similar versions of this come up with the popular recipes. It has made a huge comeback even though it is not a new recipe because it is so easy to make and really is delicious! It’s also very versatile and can be made at any time of year for any occasion and is a great compliment to Mexican recipes.
Basic Ingredients
This easy dip has only six simple ingredients that many people stock in their pantry and fridge. But I will break down what I use and why and what ingredients will give you the best results and what you can substitute.
Sour Cream – The main ingredient in this recipe is the sour cream. I used the light sour cream but you can use the higher fat version or a fat free version if you like.
Rotel – I love Rotel and use it all the time, so I almost always have a can in my pantry. You can use any version of Rotel you want but I used the fire roasted tomatoes and green chilies and it was really good. If you want a spicier dip, try the original or hot Rotel.
Corn – I used a can of low sodium corn because it is easy. If you have fresh corn you can also use that or even leftover frozen corn as long as it has been thawed and cooked.
Fiesta Ranch Mix – If you can find the actual fiesta ranch packet feel free to use that. But if you cannot, the dry ranch and taco seasoning will give you the same results. I personally like the Taco Bell taco seasoning the best, but you can use any taco seasoning you like.
Cheese – I used sharp yellow cheddar that I shredded from a block with this cheese grater attachment. I prefer to shred my own cheese because it tastes better, but you can also use pre-shredded cheese or a blend of cheese if you want.
Dippers – All great dips need a dipper! Tortilla chips and pita chips are great options here but if you are looking for a lighter option I recommend veggies like baby carrots, mini bell peppers, or broccoli.
Additions – This dip has many iterations and I have seen it made as a creamy fiesta ranch dip as well as one with meat. Feel free to add your favorites like ground beef, green onions, or even cream cheese.

- 2 tbsp Taco Seasoning
- 2 tbsp Dry Ranch Mix
- 1/2 cup Cheddar Cheese
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients to a large mixing bowl.

Storage
Leftover fiesta ranch dip can be stored in the fridge for 3 days in an airtight container. As the dip sits it will become more runny from the tomatoes. After 3 days the consistency starts to get weird.
