Description

Easy Christmas Muddy Buddy Recipe, the perfect Christmas treat for holiday parties, homemade gifts, or just a delicious treat this holiday season. This simple, classic, holiday favorite will leave you wanting more. All you need is chocolate chips, Chex cereal, peanut butter, butter, vanilla, and powdered sugar. So easy, anyone can make it!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 box (12 oz) Chex cereal
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • Christmas candies (for topping)
  • red and green m&ms (for topping)
  • peppermint kisses (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter in a microwave-safe bowl in increments of 30 seconds until chocolate is smooth. be careful not to burn your chocolate. If you cook it too long it will have a bitter taste and you will want to start over.
  2. Add in vanilla and stir until combined.
  3. In a large bowl with a lid or a plastic bag, pour mixture on top of cereal. Stir or shake until all the cereal is coated evenly. It helps to mix half the chocolate at a time.
  4. Top with Christmas candies, sprinkles, m&ms, or candy of your choosing.
  5. Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
  6. Enjoy!

Notes

  • This recipe makes about 10 cups of Christmas Chex mix.
  • Microwave heating times will vary. Start with 30 seconds and add time in 30 second intervals until chocolate mixture is smooth. Chocolate can burn very easily so I do not recommend microwaving for greater than 30 seconds at a time. Usually 1 minute in total is enough.
  • When mixing, it helps to mix half the chocolate at a time to get a better coating.
  • For best results store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
